Sunny Dykwel has lived in the Bay Area since coming over from Manila, Philippines as a teenager and calls Palo Alto her home sweet home. Closely connected to the Palo Alto community, Sunny was appointed to the Palo Alto Parks and Recreation Commission and the district-wide Palo Alto PTA Council Executive Board. She was a founding member of Partners in Education while serving on the board of the All Schools Fund. She served on several non-profit boards including the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce, Palo Alto YMCA, and Palo Alto University Rotary Club. She was a founding director of the Palo Alto Downtown Business and Professional Assn.
Sunny served as Interboard Arbitrator for the California Assn. of Realtors (C.A.R.), chaired the Professional Standards Committee and served on the PRDS Standard Forms Committee for Silicon Valley Assn of Realtors (SILVAR) and Public Relations, Membership, and Local Government Relations committees for the Palo Alto District of SILVAR.
She received many honors including awards for "Realtor of The Year" from the Palo Alto Board of Realtors, "Community Star Award" from the City of Palo Alto, and "Ambassador of the Year" from the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce. Sunny was named one of the "100 Most Influential Filipino Women in America", an annual award that was given by the Filipino Women's Network in San Francisco. She served as a delegate for the San Francisco-Manila Sister City Committee.
